GM Commentary

PS: At the end of Session 45, I gave Lurker37 three options as to how to continue. He chose Option #1.

Option #1 - Before Grant confronts Bresh in the shop, Grant's High Ranked Warfare tells him that confronting Bresh is a risky prospect. Ethan speculated that Bresh does not have an Icon and cannot call for reinforcements, but given that Bresh is trying to do something covertly, his reaction to confrontation is unpredictable. He could commit suicide and Grant would learn nothing. He could run - triggering some sort of sorcerous recall spell. He might try to call for reinforcements. Hence even though a murder has just been committed and Ethan supposedly implicated, Grant holds back and continues to tail him.

Option #2 - Again, Grant uses his High Ranked Warfare to assess the situation before rushing in, but despite the risk, he engages Bresh. Given that Bresh is resisting, Grant decides to deal with the situation as quickly as possible and kills Bresh before he can call for help or run for it. Either before or after killing him, Grant rips the basics of the Dwimmerlaik's mission from his mind, and then decides to impersonate him (ie: taking on the form of Bresh). Potentially a dangerous option but could be interesting.

Option #3 - All is lost. Bresh runs for it, and even though Grant attempts to pursue him, Bresh is gone. Frustrated and angry, Grant and Aramon spend some time in Dirham, trying to figure out why Bresh came to this down. A partial answer would be found at 10pm that night, but possibly not enough to pursue the plot to its very end.
